THIRD TIME HAS NEVER BEEN A CHARM IN NY POLITICS

Historically, elected Chief Executives become politically impotent in their third term but that doesn't mean the people don't get screwed.

Mario Cuomo's third term was economically deplorable...
Ed Koch's third term was one of the most corrupt this City has ever seen...
George Pataki's third term was the incipient stage of the current economic crisis...

Pete Gleason, former candidate for City Council in Lower Manhattan, urges voters to vote for Bill Thompson for Mayor. Money should not buy this election and the overturning of the will of the voters by extending term limits is indefensible.

Vote for Bill Thompson who supports the voters, the middle class, the small business person, ALL the people.

The average New Yorker's quality of life has diminished over the last 8 years while the mayors personal wealth has grown exponentially. Remember, the mayor's personal fortune is derived from a media empire that not only reports on the financial markets but analyzes them as well. Why then is the City in such an economic dire strait and Bloomberg's wealth skyrocketed?

Under the current mayor we had a surplus of city funds just a few years ago. Bloomberg did not plan for a rainy day and now we suffer more for it. We have unemployment and under-employment much more than the statistics tell us. We are struggling to pay the increased taxes that he instituted. We are being nickel and dimed to death with harassing fees and fines. And Bloomberg does not stand up to Albany and their lack of leadership.

Please don't be fooled by the Media cabal. Remember the New York Times profited off Jason Blair and allowed George Bush's cronies to make millions off the irresponsible Times reporting that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Pete Gleason urges you to not be fooled by the hype and the money. Vote for Bill Thompson and the change we need at this most important crossroads. We need to send the right message to our elected officials and to stand up for our rights.
