October 9, 2008 --
PETE Gleason, the ex-cop lawyer who created the Ground Zero board game that ridiculed the state and city's
incompetent rebuilding efforts, has decided to run for the City Council. "Years have passed and we still have a hole
in the ground," Gleason complains in an invite to his first fund-raiser set for Oct. 26 in his TriBeCa apartment, where
Maria Cooper Janis, daughter of screen legend Gary Cooper, will bring along the Oscar he won for "High Noon." The
invitation goes on, "Adding insult to injury, there is no memorial, no new PATH station, no health aid for 9/11 survivors."
